Jan Christenson Narration
I worked as a community nurse at the time.
The day of my near-death experience, I slipped on ice. My feet shot straight up in the air, and I came down headfirst onto the ice.
I was knocked unconscious immediately.
My best estimation is that I was unconscious for at least 20 minutes. It might not seem that long but where I went and what happened was pretty amazing.
Suddenly, I was in a place that was very dark.
Then a thought came to me: “Where am I?” Then it was like a knowing: “Ah, I’m here.”
There were no fearful reactions to where I was.
I felt completely safe. I knew I was fine.
In this state, I could see without eyes and hear without ears. In the fairly dark place, I could still see. So I started looking around, but there wasn’t much to see — it was just me there.
