About 30 years ago, I had surgery.
During surgery, something went wrong. I either lost too much blood or reacted badly to the anesthesia.
I wasn’t coming back out of the recovery room as expected.
The first thing I remember is leaving my body.
I don’t recall hanging from the ceiling or being in a tunnel as some near-death experiencers describe. Instead, I remember being in space. The space was very dark.
I looked at the Earth, which appeared about the size of the moon. I was in awe, thinking, “Oh my gosh, that is remarkable and inspirational.”
The next thing I remember is being in a black void without features or light. It was expansive in nature. It was not like being in a closet, but was a vast, very dark area.
Interestingly, it wasn’t scary. It felt very healing.
