Dianne Sherman’s childhood was the envy of every child. She grew up in Beverly Hills. It was country clubs and wonderful luxurious trips every summer.

But not everything was rosy. Dianne’s father was a functioning alcoholic with anger issues. And the elitism came with behavior and lifestyle that felt shallow to Dianne.

Dianne went to an all-girls school, and during her Junior year, she was sick for most of the year. She had to catch up in the summer to pass the year, but her mother had other plans.

Dianne and her sister would be presented at the Vienna royalty ball. To her mother, the Vienna trip was more important than school. That was the first time it occurred to Diane that she would have to live up to the elite status that came with her family.

Later in life, Dianne became a model. To her, modeling was another way to try to live up to expectations, but she didn’t feel qualified. Since she had been photographed since childhood for society papers, she felt like that’s what she had to do. So, she modeled for almost 17 years.
