That day, I was leaving work.
I had to leave the school campus and cross a street to get to my car. I got to where I needed to cross and waited for the light to give me the go. It’s a busy intersection.
The light turned red. I looked both ways confirmed the cars had stopped, and proceeded to cross the street.
About three-quarters of the way across the street, a big pickup truck came behind me. It made a left-hand turn and hit the right side of my body.
From the pictures of the accident, the car threw me 50 feet from the crosswalk and 30 feet into the air.
At that moment, It felt like time had stopped, like I was in a frozen frame of a film. And I was above my body…
