January 20, 2025. Trump issued a statement to “put America first” and withdrew the United States from the Paris Agreement. This was when Los Angeles was on fire, engulfing the homes of thousands of people.

Instead of doubling down on tackling the pressing predicaments climate change brings, the world’s most powerful nation is retreating from an international effort to curb global warming and achieve net zero by 2050.

However, we must not let the defeatist mindset conquer us. I want to convince you that there is still hope and remind you of the power of innovation and collaboration.

From America Is All In, to regenerative braking in Spain to Sweden's underground rubbish sorting system, we have turned ingenious ideas into reality to solve our environmental problems.

These efforts might seem insignificant in the enormous obstacles human politics erected between us and a sustainable future, but by spreading the word, hopefully, more places worldwide will incorporate and adopt them, leading to a positive ripple effect.
