A 2020 study by the EU Commission found that over 50% of green claims made are misleading, or unfounded; and 40% lack sufficient proof.
Likewise, a 2022 research by the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) uncovered that 57% of companies reviewed made false or misleading environmental statements.
