We’ve All Been Upset Before — But, Have You Thought About Where the Burden Lies?

The common response is that the burden lies with the other person not to do or say something that upsets me.

This image is about the topic of how what others say or do affects you. If something external to you upsets you, where does the burden for that lie?

However, what if you re-framed the action or statement in your head and learned not to let others' comments or actions (within reason, of course) affect you and started to treat them for the words or behaviors that they actually are?

They are just words.

They are just external behaviors done by someone else.

Which do you have control over?

What other people say or do, or your reaction to them?

Curious about your thoughts?

Thought Provocateur Social Media Series

The inspiration for the Thought Provocateur Social Media Series is that I love it when I encounter questions or bits of wisdom that stop me in my tracks. These are the insights that tend to stay in your head for more than five minutes and may come back later to revisit you.

In times of information overload we live in, these are the tidbits that stand out. It’s when signal outweighs noise.

You tend to remember them because they touch something deep inside of us.
