If an idea isn’t social networked, does it make a sound?

Behind every great idea is a great social-media PR flack.

I was having a conversation the other day with a good friend, the conservative editorial cartoonist for the Chicago Tribune, Scott Stantis. It was a chat I’d had with many other cartoonists and other creative types: Why can’t we just concentrate on our work? Why must we be entrepreneurs? Wouldn’t it be better for our muse to spend our free time thinking, rather than pushing out our Brand to a world that may or may not care? “After spending all day posting,” Scott said, ”there’s no time left to be creative.” Basically, this cartoon is that conversation boiled down to its essentials.
