How the Legacy of Female Shame Is Still Screwing Over Women

And how we can fight against it

I recently learned a new word: pudendum.

It’s derived from the Latin verb pudere, to be ashamed. Roman writers in the 1st century used it to describe the external genitals of men, women and animals. But later on, the term mostly persisted in describing female genitalia.
