If Women Want Equality, Why Do They Now Portray Themselves As “Bimbos?”

Inside the new social media trend of “bimbofication”

A couple of months ago, one female TikToker went viral for creating what she’s dubbed as a ‘Bimbo Manifesto.’

In her video, she shared ten rules for ‘bimbofication’, which she says helps her live a happier life.

Here are some of them:

Only focus on you and your looks all the time

Show up everywhere hot all the time

Just say ‘I don’t know’ to every question

No critical thinking, no self-awareness, no thoughts, just vibes

While the video appears to be satirical — at least I hope so — it’s not the first time I came across a similar piece of content.

The bimbo trend — also referred to as ‘bimbofication,’ ‘bimbohood’, or ‘bimboism’ — has been rising in popularity in the last couple of years. And not exactly as a misogynistic stereotype, but instead a mentality, an aesthetic, and a way of life.

Well, I’m not going to lie — I was conflicted about it at first.

On the one hand, this trend appears to be a parody of misogyny historically faced by women and an attempt to subvert harmful gender…
