3 ingredient Oreo Truffle Pops — Little pieces of heaven
There are only two type of people in the world, one who drive down the chocolate-love highway full throttle and others who take the diversion.
What I think about myself is completely a different side of the story, well, I like cooking with chocolate and that makes all of us happy. more or less.
I couldn’t stop myself from making something out of what is arguably world’s most popular biscuits.. Oreos! because everyone loves them! And since the timing was perfect with Christmas just around the corner and a charitable food fund-raiser coinciding with it, chocolate dessert had to be the ultimate choice.
What would you need — (the recipe makes 54 truffles)
7 packs of any variant Oreo cookies
Cream cheese 300–350 gms at room temperature
Cooking chocolate (white/milk/dark, pick your choice)350 gms — I used the industrial chocolate bars, available in MK Retail Indiranagar Bangalore
Bamboo skewers 6 inches
How to -
Grind the Oreos in flour like consistency in a food processor, or using zip lock pouch and rolling pin (labour-intensive, phew). Keep some flour aside
Transfer it to a big bowl and add cream cheese little by little, Mix thoroughly with the cookie crumble
The mixture should start to look like clay, add more cream cheese if desired
Make small balls with hands, don’t worry about the irregularity in shape, we have it covered
Meanwhile melt some chocolate in a double boiler, take out the skewers and sink the head on the melted chocolate before piercing it in the oreo balls
Place the oreos on a flat tray and keep it in refrigerator for about 30 minutes to set.
Melt more chocolate, take the oreos out. One by one dunk the balls in melted chocolate. Use the skewer to hold and roll the chocolate round. Keep it back on the tray, make sure to keep parchment paper/foil on the tray. Sprinkle some oreo crumble on top.
Repeat the process untill all truffles are done and again keep it in refrigerator for about 15–20 minutes to set
Put on a big smile and serve! (Recipe courtsey: Pop Sugar)
