The Pattern Of This World II — Human Contributions

Last week I talked about how this world has been set into an automatic system ever since it was created. In my attempt to explain, I ended talking about speaking positive thing into the world and getting automatic results — go figure…
Let me know how that worked for you?
Today, I want to continue with the role of man in the world its system.
So what exactly is the world?
My definition of the world is the people in it and the rules and laws that govern them. These laws are man made laws like constitutions, travel laws — like how you need a visa to travel to another country, and every limitation has set on himself and called it law. There are also the laws of nature. Like ageing — how everything created has to grow old or depreciate with time, the law of gravity, the law of giving and receiving, the law of sin and death. These laws are many.
So seeing that people, rules and laws are what define this world, and seeing that you are person, it implies that you are a part of the world. So obviously, you are not to be a bystander. Someone just observing the world on the sidelines. You are a part of the world. I would dare say you make the world what it is. Without you. The world loses a fundamental component and will not be whole.
Let’s take this scenario. Imagine you are walking down the street in your local market. The sun is scorching, the human and vehicle traffic are both malevolent. All of a sudden, 2 women burst into a fight so close to you, you can feel the heat in their breaths and it doesn’t make the furnace of the weather any forgiving. People try to stop the fight but it only seems to get worse. What do you do? You can try to help stop the fight or totally ignore it and move out of harms way.
Know that whatever you do, you would have contributed to the pattern of the world at that instance.
If you try to stop the fight, you would have been to those 2 women the random guy or lady who tried to stop their fight. Because in their world, you are the random person! In your world, they are the random people. But you see? Both of you have worlds with a random person in it. If you don’t make an attempt to stop it, they played a more significant role in your world than you did in theirs. So you are never a bystander in the world. The less you do, the less significant you become and the more you deny the world of its completeness.
What is this Ammishaddai guy rambling about again? Let’s go to scripture. About being Salt and light, Jesus said in Matthew 5:13-16
‘You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
‘You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. — NIV
Do you see? We are salt and light. That means we add flavor and color to the world. Without salt, food would be so tasteless. Without you, the world definitely be less interesting. Without light, we wouldn’t be able to tell the different shades in color at all. Without you, people wouldn’t know the variety of human beings that is you. The wouldn’t know how a beautiful black woman behaves or short dark man acts like. You add spice to the world and you are very significant.
What’s even more exciting is if you are christian. Then your contribution to world is even greater! Don’t deny this world your greatness.
In Romans 8:19–21, Paul says:
“Everything that God made is waiting with excitement for the time when he will show the world who his children are. The whole world wants very much for that to happen.
Everything God made was allowed to become like something that cannot fulfill its purpose. That was not its choice, but God made it happen with this hope in view: That the creation would be made free from ruin — that everything God made would have the same freedom and glory that belong to God’s children.” — ERV
You should always be thinking; “What can I give back to this world?”
Because the truth is nobody can survive on his own. Even the most selfish business tycoon needs his customers to continue to be rich.
Let me take this analogy Bright, my cofounder explained to me. He says
“Plants give out oxygen for you to live and you also breathe out carbon dioxide for them to survive.
In the end, they give you fruits to eat and you end up scattering their seeds to help in their reproduction.”
Last example. Last example. I am in a co working space and I used to just hate on some of the co workers for being unfriendly and just not nice. I was very sure I definitely didn’t want to work or even talk with them. Guess what? In their own world, they probably didn’t want to work with me either! And I was just hating on them.
A christian projecting hatred towards other Christians. Smh.
Stop thinking selfishly man! This world is not about you. Yes it might be your life but it is definitely not your world.
So stop thinking about only you.
Affect the people in this world with your life.
Make a conscious effort to be nice to everyone you meet.
You just might be the only good thing that happens in their life and in their world that day. But if you don’t, someone else will. And they might get the blessing you should have otherwise had. Just because you were thinking small by being selfish.
The world is waiting for your contribution to it. So start now. Go out of yourself and be #AWESOME with a hashtag.
See you again next week with more insights to the non-cliched christian life.
As always, please feel free to leave a comment or a feedback. And definitely share this article if you find it a good read. Let’s change the world together 😊
