Write for The Nonconformist
What we publish
We’re a literary magazine, first and foremost, and so we’re open to submissions of short stories, other short fiction forms, and poetry. If you’ve always dreamed of publishing your novel in installments, Dickens’ style, we’d love to do it. However, we won’t consider for publication any previously published material (e.g. a self-published novel).
The Nonconformist is a home for the artistically homeless and a megaphone for the voiceless.
We also publish book reviews, articles and essays related to literature, poetry, fiction writing, poetry writing, cinema, theater, and culture in general. If you have an unorthodox or downright subversive opinion on the traditional norms and rules of culture, do tell us about it.
How to write for The Nonconformist:
Please send us your submission accompanied by a few words about yourself.
You don’t have to be a previously published author to be accepted to The Nonconformist. We take pride in helping both emerging and established writers find their literary home here.
Depending on the volume of submissions we receive, response time will vary.
E-mail all submissions to:

Remember that being controversial doesn’t mean being racist, sexist, uncivil, or propagating hate speech — we won’t publish any writing of that kind.
If you feel that your short story, poem, or article is a little weird, don’t fret. This magazine is the right place for the well-written, weird pieces. We take chances here.
A few no-noes:
Don’t submit any material that has already appeared in other publications without informing us about it in your cover letter.

We reserve the right to edit and format the material submitted to the magazine.
