To my Medium followers: On January 1st, I took over as Board Chair for the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of New York City. You can learn more about it, here.

Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Nonprofiteers! What a great day to officially kick off the brand new YNPN-NYC blog here, on Medium.

It’s crazy to think that half of January has already fallen off of the calendar! Here is the latest from YNPN-NYC:

Nonprofiteer of the Year 2015

We are less than 3 weeks away from celebrating our 2015 Nonprofiteer of the Year! The event is happening at the Foundation Center on Thursday, February 4th.

NOTY is the one time out of the year when our community recognizes an individual in the New York City area making a unique impact in their day to day nonprofit life. The event also offers network, and light food and drinks. It’s $5 for active members and $30 for non-members. (An annual membership is included in the $30 ticket price.)

On January 11th, we rolled out a brand new job board. The cost for employers is currently $25 post and $20 to upgrade to a *featured* post. It’s a great way for nonprofiteers to connect with awesome nonprofits and vice-versa. We’re excited about the opportunities it will create here in New York City.

As a member, it’s always free to post. Please write us for details.

Board Chair Transition

Christopher Chavez served his final day as YNPN-NYC Board Chair on December 31st. Chris leaves YNPN-NYC after almost 5 years! On behalf of the Board, I thank him for his years of leadership and for being a steward of nonprofiteers in New York City.

On January 1st, my 2-year Board Chair term began. You can learn more about me and connect on LinkedIn.

Board Volunteer Opportunities

The YNPN-NYC Board is recruiting! We’re looking for a diverse set of skills and nonprofit backgrounds. If you’re looking to contribute to your NYC nonprofit network in a meaningful way, get in touch with us.

Join YNPN-NYC Today!

Earlier this month, we rolled out a new membership registration process. Moving forward, all dues will be collected via Recurly. Recurly helps make the membership process easier for both members and YNPN-NYC. Once you sign up, you’re immediately subscribed to our private email list. It’s the only place to hear about special members-only offers and invites.

If you’re unsure of your membership status, you can email me directly at chair@ynpnnyc.org.
