BitGuild Portal Alpha Launch
The first version of the portal will be released as early as next week.
I’m pleased to announce that the portal my team has been working hard on for the past months will be released next week! We’re very excited to launch the BitGuild Portal into the wild, and we encourage users to come check it out for themselves. Once the portal is live, all crypto gaming enthusiasts will be able to sign in with their MetaMask account and enjoy what we’re working to turn into a haven for players and developers alike.
We’re getting closer to finishing the integration process, with the first wave of games that appearing on the portal shortly after launch. We’re also working with several talented 3rd party developers to bring popular and innovative titles to the portal as soon as possible (more on this soon!).
For now, players will be able to register and secure their desired display names within the BitGuild ecosystem, as well as play the very first game to be featured on our portal. Please keep in mind that this is the first version, and we will continue to grow the portal dynamically as we build out new features and optimize the experience as the space expands. Of course, we can’t do this without the help of our community, so we encourage you to share your feedback on our Discord server.
Here are some of the things we plan on including in the first version:
- A way for users to buy PLAT within the BitGuild Portal to play games. Look for the plus button next to your PLAT balance; hitting it invokes a converter that shows you the ratio of ETH to PLAT and allows you to purchase tokens to use on the portal. Token holders who acquired tokens during the public sale will benefit from having purchased it for a better price.
- Item inventory and gifting. We’re working to support items from various games on the portal, starting with the partners we launch with and later extending it to other popular games. Item inventory will allow you to check all the items you own, or send them to friends and marketplaces. Once it’s launched, the marketplace will allow you to easily put items up for sale. It will also offer categorization and per-game filtering to streamline your browsing experience.
- Integrated chat feature. This ties users together across all games on the BitGuild platform. We’re starting with one chatroom across the whole portal, but in the future each game will have a dedicated space where players can discuss the game and exchange tips and tricks without ever leaving their chosen game!
- Multiple language support. We recognize that our community is cross-border and multinational. Ideally, we want to support all of our players and provide them with the best experience possible, but one step at a time. On launch, we intend to offer support for English, French, Spanish, and Chinese. More languages will follow.
