JUST LAUNCHED: Bitizens Preview Release
Now you can create a unique version of yourself on the blockchain
The day has finally come — It’s time to unleash the Bitizens Preview build upon all of you. We know you’ve been patient, and as such, we are really excited to invite you all to take your first steps in the world of Bitizens.
Making our vision come to life has been no simple task, and we’ve been through several iterations of almost every aspect of the game. It’s been a long journey, and we know the road ahead of us is still long — but we are feeling really good about how far we’ve come already.
We look forward to expanding the scope of Bitizens little by little, eventually creating a fully fledged gaming ecosystem, where all players can find a place to express themselves socially in new and exciting ways.
A look at Bitizens
Bitizens is more than what it appears to be at first glance. We’ve got some serious tech under the hood of this baby, such as an advanced HTML5 3D graphics engine, hot new ERC-998 tokens, and more.
All this tech comes together to create a living, breathing world in the making. The work we are putting in now is like laying the foundations for a house. It’s not that exciting to look at, and you might not see much of it later. However, without such a strong foundation, the house wouldn’t stand for very long, and we’d have no place to kick off our full vision from.
A Bitizen is Born!
All activities on www.bitguild.com will one day revolve around Bitizens, allowing players to access both first and third party games via the world of Bitropolis. To do so, users are obviously going to need a virtual avatar to represent them in this new world.
Enter the character creator.
While some people may not consider this a part of the game, we strongly believe character creators represent an integral part of what allows players to connect and empathize with their virtual avatars. We’ve shared stories around the office of memories tied to creating our characters in various online games, and it turns out that most of us spend over 20 minutes making our characters look just the way we want them to look!
As soon as we realized this, we knew the best place to start was creating a rock-solid character building feature, allowing all players to express themselves by creating an extension of themselves in the form of a Bitizen.

What’s Next?
Once you’ve created a Bitizen by customizing his or her facial features, and giving them a unique style by selecting clothing items, you’ll be ready for future updates to Bitizens. In the near future, we will be launching the Wardrobe update, incorporating a slew of new free items to customize your Bitizen with, as well as implementing the unique and limited edition BitGuild Founders and Bitizens Pre-Sale items. BitGuild Founder items are long gone, but you can still snag some of the sweet pre-sale sets!
As for finding new clothing items in the game, that’s coming soon too! After the Wardrobe Update, we will be fleshing out a mining system, allowing players to search for clothing items within “Mining Nodes”. These Nodes are mostly public, but some of them may be purchasable by players, granting them certain benefits when other players mine for items on the owned node. We look forward to giving you more details about the mining system in the coming weeks.
Bitropolis Awaits 🏙
Over the next couple of months, players will see Bitizens develop into a fully featured social platform for blockchain gaming.
Bitropolis is going to be a place where all cryptogamers can come together, chat, and participate in all activities, games, and anything else www.bitguild.com might have to offer in the future. Imagine a highly detailed, fully interconnected social platform from which cryptogamers everywhere can find each other, enjoy their favorite games together, and build long-lasting communities.
Bitropolis is represented as a retro-futuristic utopia with a bustling economy, a thriving population, and no lack of highly engaging activities for players to experience in a social setting — and we can’t wait for you to visit, once we open the gates to the city.
