GuildChat release schedule updates and TronTrade event news

Welcome to this week’s State of the Guild, where we’ll update you on everything that’s been going on at BitGuild HQ. This round of news includes changes to GuildChat 2.0’s release schedule, and an update on some TronTrade events that were affected by server issues. Let’s dig in.

GuildChat

Our development team continues to work around the clock to create the best user experience possible and surprise our community with a new and exciting GuildChat. This past week we made the hard decision to push the public beta release back a few weeks, due to unexpected issues encountered and potential risks identified by our team.

Among the reasons that led us to push back the release of GuildChat 2.0 to the second half of October are:

  • Manpower allocation: We are approaching a major holiday in our Chinese office, National Day, which runs from October 1st to October 8th. During this time, the majority of our engineering staff will be unavailable;
  • Shared engineer resources: GuildChat, GuildWallet, and TronTrade teams share some of the engineer resources, specifically full-stack engineers.Simultaneous updates for all three products will mean delays on the development of GuildChat. We are fixing this by adding two full-stack engineers, who are due to join the team next week;
  • Performance optimizations: We have identified the need to optimize the performance of a few key elements in the app interface, and that requires the addition of around 196 engineer hours.

As per the development updates, this past week our team has been mainly focused on the following tasks:

  • Front-end engineers have completed most of the tasks for Sprint 9 and fixed 93.6% of all issues and optimizations identified (563 out of 601);
  • The first demo of Unread Messages Locating and Message List didn’t match the product standard. Engineers spent an additional three days on research to provide an optimized solution;

This week, our team will focus on fixing current bugs and completing all tasks for Sprint 8, solving technical issues on Image Selection and Message List, optimizing performance (front end and back end), and making some final UI optimizations.

TronTrade

In the past week, TronTrade faced some stability issues in the event server, which caused delays in order matching, as well as created duplicate trade orders. Given this issue, we delayed the distribution of rewards for TOPIA events in order to get accurate numbers and ensure the rewards were being sent to the right traders. Our team has been working tirelessly to fix the issue as fast as possible, but we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

All rewards have now been distributed, and this event server issue should not affect ongoing events. We continuously work to ensure the best user experience on TronTrade, however, we can’t avoid being affected by the performance of the TRON network when it does present issues.

Those are all the news we have for you this week, but tune back in next Friday for more updates and other tidbits. And as usual, if you want real-time information on your favorite BitGuild products, don’t forget to follow us on Twitter and Telegram.
