New GuildChat version and Android updates, TronTrade event news, and PLAT burn

Welcome to another edition of State of the Guild, where we report all the news and updates from BitGuild’s products and projects. This week, we have more news for GuildChat Android users and updates on the new version. We also have news regarding TronTrade events, a new GuildWallet version available, and the most recent PLAT burn. Let’s check it out.

GuildChat

As we informed you last week, we’ve bumped into issues with the Android version of the app, which was suspended from the Play Store due to a function that allowed external downloads. We have now fixed the problem and appealed to get it reinstated, but Google has not lifted the suspension. So we have found ourselves with only one option: to submit a completely new app package. What does that mean for our Android users?

  • The current Android version can no longer be updated.
  • Android users will have to back up their wallet from the current version, download the new app from the Google Play Store, and import their Wallet
  • Current user data, such as friends, groups, bookmarks will be migrated to the new app. However, chats history will be lost.

Over the next few days, we will be releasing the new GuildChat app for Android and helping users to safely and easily migrate their accounts to it.

On the development side of things, this week was mainly dedicated to working on the final details and requirements for GuildChat 2.4. This version will be submitted to the App Store today, March 6. Here is what you can expect from this update:

1. New Public Chain supported: Bitcoin Cash

2. Ability to play Ethereum dApps

3. New languages added: Portuguese, Indonesian and Dutch

4. Minor bug fixes and optimizations

This week, the team has also been working on the UI and UX requirements for version 3.0 as well as the Chat System — which will allow us to have much larger groups.

Over the next week, we will be collecting feedback and working on any bugs encountered on the most recent version, as well as completing all the UI design requirements for version 3.0.

TronTrade

This week, we had an internal discussion to tackle the issue of bot trading on the DEX. While we strive to provide the best experience and maintain fairness in our trading events, we have seen an uptick in the usage of bots to take advantage of the rewards. This is something that many other exchanges have also experienced. Our team has come up with several measures to deal with the issue on the tech side, and now we have a tool to enlist our community’s help. We have created a form that users can help us identify and remove trades and wallets that infringe the trading event rules. The new form will be made available shortly, and anyone on TronTrade can submit a report. Our team will be verifying and unqualifying the infringing trades and wallets from the leaderboards.

GuildWallet

GuildWallet 3.0 is among us! As we announced last week, this new version is the result of our strategy to expand the reach of our products outside of the Tron Network. Apart from a complete UI revamp, the new GuildWallet is now multi-chain and supports all Ethereum tokens.

As it is the tradition at BitGuild, we have a Bug Bounty program in place where our community can report any bug encountered on GuildWallet and be rewarded for it. For details, please visit this page.

PLAT

On March 3, we had another round of PLAT burn. This time we burned 45 million PLAT, bringing the current amount in circulation to 8,803,679,263.

That is all for this week’s State of the Guild. Be sure to come back next week for more fresh updates and don’t forget to follow us on Twitter and Telegram.

BitGuild aims to bring blockchain and cryptocurrency adoption to the masses by providing compelling experiences that are easily accessible.
