DECISIONS

Eyes blind to the line when crossing from light to dark.
How far should I go into the depth of the dark side
when I cannot see?

The dark trifles curling its finger
urging with blazing beautiful eyes
to come toward the fruit and engorge until sated.

I’m hesitant.

Is it selfish want for something I don’t know
or in some way known, yet not experienced
except in dreams?

Exigent desire burns not to ashes but roaring fire
before the oceans ebb
only to come again and again
relentless in its punishment and pleasure.

Oh to sleep peacefully.
