We’re Alive! Expanding Beta Access and New Tokens (REQ & BAT)
Excited to try out The Ocean? We have great news for you.
We’re expanding beta access to all early adopters! If you are approved to trade on our platform, you will receive a special invite to test out our trading on Mainnet very soon. Over the course of this beta period (until launch), we have three main goals:
- To gather data to better inform our UI/UX decisions and roadmap
- To adjust performance for maximum smooth-sailing
- To open clear lines of communication between us and every user
We encourage you to voice your feedback, opinions, and suggestions. Creating a world-class trading platform is a collaborative process, and your insights will directly fuel our development process.
We’re giving away 10 Ledger Nano wallets!
And of course, we already couldn’t have gotten this far without our wonderful community’s support. To reward you, 10 lucky and diligent beta testers will receive a Ledger Nano wallet. On August 15, 2018, we will end beta and send out devices to the following users:
- Top 6 traders who make the most # of trades (using our dashboard or API)
- Top 2 traders who trade the most volume
- 2 randomly-selected traders who provide feedback
In addition, we’re also providing priority access to crypto-to-fiat services with TrueUSD. With your beta invite, you’ll receive a special code to quickly access a 1:1 stablecoin backed by USD.
BAT and REQ Now Available
We’re always searching for innovative, trustworthy projects to add to The Ocean. We’re very happy to announce that REQ and BAT are now tradable during beta. (And more tokens will be added upon launch!)
REQ is a token of Request Network, a decentralized network which empowers anyone, anywhere to make or request a payment. No costly third parties are required, and payments are saved on an secure, immutable ledger to make auditing and accounting truly transparent.
BAT, otherwise known as Basic Attention Token, serves as a representation of a user’s attention. Using the Brave browser, BATs are distributed to publishers and creators based on how users spend their time, creating a transparent and efficient digital advertising market.
End of Beta and Airdrop Access
As a reminder, August 15, 2018 will mark the end of beta and the beginning of our launch to the public. 🎉 As a result, all pending orders on our platforms may be cleared. All tokens reserved for these trades will automatically return to your wallets.
In addition, our airdrop sign-up will promptly close at August 13, 2018 at 12:00am EST to ensure that everyone has day one access to The Ocean. We’ll need some time to process recent sign-ups and distribute our OCEAN token rewards.
