In honour of a special day: 11/11, here’s a list of 11 things you need to know about Kopitar’s season to date.

  1. Kopitar only needs 4 more goals to equal his total from the 2015–16 season, in which he scored 12 goals and contributed 40 assists.
  2. The goals will slow down. With a shooting percentage of 18.6, it’s bound to regress to nearer his career average of 12.2%.
  3. Captain Anze speaks 5 languages.
  4. On pace for 220 shots, which he hasn’t done since 2011–12.
  5. He hasn’t taken a single penalty. For a former Selke winner (2015–16) it’s a good sign.
  6. 5 of his assists came on the powerplay.
  7. In 2011–12, Kopitar’s shootout percentage was 11.1%… and again in 2015–16.
  8. Won the Stanley Cup with the LA Kings in 2011–12, again in 2013–14.
  9. Will make $11 million in salary in 2019–20.
  10. Was the top-ranked European prospect going into the Draft.
  11. Anze Kopitar was drafted with the 11th overall pick in the 2005 Draft.

Hopefully A.K. and fellow Kings forward Dustin Brown will continue their torrid pace to stay atop the standings this season. The Kings are looking to impress pending free agent and franchise defenseman Drew Doughty.
