I’m Doing Fine

Trigger warning: depression, suicide.

Hey everyone, just wanted to check in and let you know how I’m doing. Things are going well, and I’m doing fine.

I’m happily married to my loving, beautiful wife, and we have four cats, a house, and a car. We’re pretty well off, all things considered.

I work my nine-to-five white-collar office job and I have a little side-hustle for a bit of extra cash. All of my expenses are tracked in my budget, and I use receipt and rebate apps to get just a little extra money on top. Sure, I take pictures of every receipt I get six different times for six different apps that are harvesting my data in exchange for pennies, but every little bit helps, right?

We’ve lived in our house for a long time, and it’s pretty great. Except a lot of it is falling apart because it’s over 100 years old and we can’t really afford to repair a lot of those things right now, so there’s a bit of triage whenever something fails. Contractors are expensive, but at least I have my budget, my job, my side hustle, and my receipt apps, right?

My car is nice too — fairly new, actually, since we just got into a car accident a few weeks ago and had to replace the old 14-year-old car. So yeah, new car note, but thankfully it’s an affordable monthly payment because I have my budget, my job, my side hustle, and my receipt…
