Recap: Oddshot @ Gamers for Giving 2016
This year, Oddshot had the awesome opportunity to help sponsor Gamers Outreach’s annual charity event “Gamers for Giving”. Along with Infiniscene and Elgato Gaming, we co-sponsored the Stream Team area and were able to meet a lot of great streamers that did their all to raise money for the kids.
From the venue to the attendees and all the events in between, we have to say that this was a great experience. Despite the technical difficulties, everyone came together to make sure the charity drive was still a success.
In the end, through help of sponsors and attendees, Gamers Outreach was able to raise $172,494.55. NEARLY DOUBLE THEIR ORIGINAL GOAL!
Here’s how that all broke down:
- Raffle tickets, merch, donations at booth: $18,659.55
- Matching donation from anonymous contributor: $7,000
- Entry fees & streamer donations: $124,835.00 (~50% raised by the stream team!)
- Sponsorship Donations (less event expenses): $22,000.00
Now, to give thanks! There were a multitude of people who helped make this event possible:
Alex “GoldenboyFTW” Mendez and Jamesbot of Rocket League Central for commentating our Rocket League Tournament on Sunday.
Rated M Gaming for helping the Oddshot Community team organize and put on the Rocket League Tournaments. Also, thanks for providing those SWEET trophies and steam cards.
PrincessShockz for graciously volunteering her time to help the Oddshot Community team stuff swag bags and help with prize distribution.
PyroInsane for having a voice of the gods and making sure our announcements and last minute changes were heard by everyone.
and lastly to Zach Wigal and all of the Gamers Outreach staff and volunteers for allowing us to be apart of such an amazing event. We hope to see you next year!
