A Year of Garbage Movies #21: “Who’s Your Caddy” (2007)

“Caddy Shack”, but instead of trying to keep eccentric rich people out of their club, they try to keep black people out. Or at least that’s the message we’re supposed to receive.

Aside from the unoriginal premise, we feel almost no sympathy for “C-Note”, the main character, since he’s an obnoxious douchebag to everyone from the start.

C-Note basically does everything that would get you kicked out of any venue anywhere but it’s okay because the club president cheated at golf once. Late in the movie we find out that his dad was the best golfer ever but was stuck being a caddy and got denied a record by the president or something, but for the first 45 minutes or so we’re supposed to hate everyone else, regardless of what shit the main crew pulls, just because they have club memberships I guess. For example

• Showing up to the green in a helicopter (“IT DIDN’T TECHNICALLY LAND NOT A RULE VIOLATION NOR A VIOLATION OF SEVERAL LAWS OF ANY KIND)
• Playing with a gun on the course (“I’VE GOT A PERMIT FROM THE MAYOR SAYING I CAN CARRY THAT ANYWHERE OR TIME I WANT TO THAT IS EXACTLY HOW GUN LAWS WORK DID YOU CALL ME THE N-WORD?”)
• Putting nitrous on a golf cart, losing control, driving it over a barricade, and running over the club president with it (“MANSLAUGHTER IS NOT AGAINST THE RULES THIS IS BULLSHIT”)
• Lil Wayne poisons a horse (not remarked upon, even when the horse keels over in the middle of a polo…
