Over the weekend, the Ole Miss baseball team reached ten wins on the young season.

They played in Orlando, Florida, against the University of Central Florida.

The Outcome of the Games

  • Ole Miss won the first game on Friday afternoon, 8–7.
  • UCF won game two in twelve innings 1–0.
  • Ole Miss won the “rubber match” on Sunday 9–1.

What Ole Miss Fans learned about the team

The Ole Miss offense is as good as advertised. While UCF shut down the Rebels’ offense in game two, Ole Miss scored a combined seventeen runs in the other two games. I think the Ole Miss bats will be challenging for opposing teams to silence for an entire series.

Also, and perhaps even more critical, Ole Miss fans saw a deep and talented bullpen. The Ole Miss starting pitchers performed well over the weekend, and the bullpen was “lights out.” Of the nine runs allowed by Ole Miss pitchers, only two were allowed by the bullpen over 15.1 innings pitched.

Upcoming games for Ole Miss

Ole Miss is back home in Oxford for all their games this week.

  • Tuesday, March 8 at 6:30 PM (versus Memphis).
  • Wednesday, March 9 at 6:30 PM (versus Alcorn State).
  • Friday, March 11 at 6:30 PM (Oral Roberts).
  • Saturday, March 12 at 1:30 PM (Oral Roberts).
  • Sunday, March 13 at 1:30 PM (Oral Roberts).

The Ole Miss Rebel baseball team looks every bit as good as advertised. Now, they need to continue to focus on each day of practice, each workout, each game.

When you’re outstanding, the danger is looking too far ahead and forgetting the essential daily details. The day-to-day work is where greatness is earned.

All Ole Miss has to do is focus on what day at a time, and they will find the greatness they crave.
