Our Lady of Peace School partnered with Excelandia for the second time since the pandemic to provide online diagnostic and achievement exams to help track students’ competencies and gauge their progress throughout the academic year.

Excelandia held an orientation on August 13 to give students and guardians a brief overview of what Excelendia is all about, and to also remind students to prepare for their upcoming Diagnostic Pre-Assessment Test. Students were later sent emails for instructions and information on the assessment.

Students were assigned to download online conference application Zoom for proctors to monitor their activities while taking the exam. Exam proctors gave briefings on how to take the exam on the Excelandia Exam Portal prior to the assessment. 60–75 minutes were given for each student to take the exams, depending on the subject. Students were then given a 15-minute break in-between subjects.

Unlike last year, Excelandia decided to revamp their program to help in the student’s development, called the Hybrid Assessment. The Hybrid Assessment program will let the students walk on the bridge of learning using their assessment results from the following: Diagnostic Assessment, Quarterly Assessment, and Achievement Assessment.

This program is in response to the Department of Education (DepEd) who prescribed the learning competencies that the school should follow. These competencies would help enrich children in their learning journey. All schools in the entire country have the same learning competencies, that is the minimum required by DepEd, thus creating the Hybrid Assessment.
