How To Add Zeus Finance Node RPC Endpoints To MetaMask

Greetings Olympians!

We come bearing good news — you can see that we continue to build regardless of the state of cryptocurrency to ensure we provide you all with a protocol that works. As we have announced, we are adding RPC Endpoints to our Zeus Finance nodes.

If you have made it this far along in your journey, you are probably well aware that Zeus Finance operates on the Avalanche Network. Avalanche is growing everyday as an alternative to the Ethereum Network, and part of the reason is the fantastic infrastructure that it provides for its user base. This guide will specifically show you how to add Zeus Finance RPC Endpoints to your desktop browser, as well as your mobile MetaMask app.

For those that are unaware, RPC Endpoints (Remote Procedure Call) are the ways in which individual wallets communicate with any given network. Without this means of communication, the dApps will not be able to access the necessary information and will not allow for transactions on the network in which the dApp operates on. By implementing our own endpoint network, each node (past, present and future) will now have its own RPC Endpoint. The benefit of this is that it will now allow for faster transaction speeds, as well as reduced gas costs, by allowing individual nodes to directly communicate with the Avalanche Network.

Here are 3 reasons RPC’s are important to blockchain development.

1. Creating Decentralized Applications (dApps): One of the main use cases for RPC is building dApps that have the capability to interact with one or more blockchains. Decentralized applications are based on smart contracts that enable features like automatic execution of a crypto trade. They also have a user interface that makes it usable for everyone. The RPC layer built into dApps allows these separate software applications to communicate with each other.
2. Simplifying The Building Process: The RPC layer is also useful when building applications because it greatly simplifies the job of developers. For instance, if you wanted users to be able to view their external wallet’s crypto balance within your new DeFi liquidity farming site, you wouldn’t need to build a wallet from scratch — you would just need to build an API that can ask to communicate with the wallet to find what the user holds. At the same time, the software that forms the crypto wallet can contain API-enabling code that allows interoperability with many other DeFi protocols.
3. Touching Massive Amounts Of Information and Data: There are critical pieces of information that builders need to create their own blockchain platforms and services. With access to a free, readily available, and reliable RPC, developers will be able to build faster, more efficient applications.

In simple terms, it is faster for 10 cars to drive down a highway with 10 different lanes than to funnel through one lane on a highway with 10 cars. As the demand for crypto increases worldwide, so will the congestion on all networks, especially Avalanche. These RPC endpoints will allow us to get ahead of the game by creating a better network experience for our investors. Connecting RPC Endpoints To MetaMask On The Desktop:

1st, you will click your MetaMask Icon and click on your network.

2nd, in the drop down menu, you will select ‘Add Network.’

3rd, you will copy and paste the mainnet details as provided below. Ensure that you click save when finishing.

Symbol: AVAX

Connecting RPC Endpoints To MetaMask On Mobile

1st, click the three lines icon on the top left corner

2nd, select ‘Settings.’

3rd, select ‘Networks.’

4th, choose ‘Add Network.’

5th, copy and paste the mainnet details as it is shown below. Ensure to click ‘Add’ when finishing.
