Closed doors are not denied blessings

Be glad when you don’t get exactly what you prayed for at the moment you ask for it. When God closes a door in your life, just know that he has something so much greater in store for you. For as many doors as He shuts, there are just as many windows and even roof tops to break through to reach your breakthrough.

Remember the story of the Paralytic man in Luke 5:17–26? In this chapter, four men sought out for Jesus to heal a paralytic man as He was teaching. Rather than leave discouraged because there seemed to be no way to reach Jesus, the men let the paralyzed man down through the roof. Jesus did not deny them their request, but instead, forgave the man of his sins and healed him because of their extreme faith in Him. These men did whatever it took to get in reach of Jesus to receive healing. They realized that they had to put in extra work and have faith to get what they needed. There was no easy way about going through this. These men did not just walk through the front door to get their blessing. Just because the front door was not accessible to this paralyzed man did not mean that that he was going to be denied healing and forgiveness. The other blessing in this was story was that this paralyzed man was able to reach Jesus via the help of not only one, but four able bodied men who also had faith in the healing of Jesus. How awesome is that? Not only will God fulfill your prayers, but he will place people in your life to get you to the right place at the right time.

When it comes to life’s obstacles, do not be discouraged. Realize that through your faith, your goals can be reached and prayers answered. Sometimes God allows doors to close because it just may not be the right time. We’re always hungry for the next big thing to happen, but when we get it, we don’t know how to go about eating. “Should I use my hands or should I use utensils?” Sometimes it may not be the right time because we haven’t put in enough effort through our faith in God. Yes, pray for what you believe God for, but put in the work as well. James 2:17 says faith without works is dead. We have to be willing to climb up on some roof tops in order to receive our blessings. In order to get to that place of climbing a roof top, understand that God has to prepare us for that place and time so that we are ready to endure what is to come. It’s not going to be easy by any means. There may be bumps and bruises along the way, but our faith is what will push us through that last leg of each race.

God’s timing is always perfect and we have to understand that He is purposefully preparing us for what we pray for. Be purposeful in your prayers and operate in extreme faith. So, whether its a few days from now or a few years from now, be ready to receive what He has for you no matter the route you travel or the entrance you go through to get there.
