Whatever you are experiencing right now is exactly what you needed to happen to help you become the greatest version of yourself. Maybe you think you should be more ahead than you already are right now. I’m telling you, this moment was made for you to learn something beautiful about yourself.

If you are approaching your 30s, and still haven’t found your spouse, you might be discouraged thinking something is wrong with you. Or you could not have gotten the promotion when you know you are the most qualified on the job. Maybe you have yet to master you fitness goals when you keep putting in work at the gym.

We have all been stuck in those places before, whether some are willing to admit it or not. Nothing is wrong with you. This is just a learning season. It is a time for you to grow in ways that will prepare you for the next season.

Give yourself more time.

Anything worth having is going to take time to build. Valuable items do not come to you overnight. Think about how precious diamonds are. Did you know that real, authentic diamonds take between 1 to 3.3 billion years to form? They are deep within the earth under loads of heat pressure. But when that carbon comes up to the surface, it is so undeniably pure. People spend a fortune on real diamonds because of their rarity. Every second of the process was totally worth it.

You are the diamond.

You might not see it right now in that you haven’t hit all of your goals just yet. You have the end in mind, but you haven’t seen anything that looks similar to it. Let’s be honest, diamonds look absolutely nothing like the carbon it was formed out of. That means those diamonds went through some major transformation to get to where they now can sell for millions of dollars.

Even though you are not exactly where you want to be, don’t fall under the pressure to give up. Just take the pressure from your own self to look a certain way, act like this, or be like this. As you go through your process, know that it may look differently than someone else’s.

So stop comparing your chapter one to someone’s chapter fourteen. You have no idea what they went through to get to where they are today. In most cases, people don’t air all of the hardships they faced. They sometimes only show you the highlight reel to make you think their life is perfect. It isn’t. Be thankful for what you have and exactly where you are. There is someone in the world wishing they had what you have now.

Listen to your instincts as you climb towards success. They will never steer you wrong. That gut feeling will tell you when to make the “right next move”, even when logic and fear says don’t. Because you listened to that still inner voice, it will save you from having to wait even longer for your success. It will help you to be gentle with yourself a bit more knowing that everything truly does work out in God’s timing. You’ll start to see you really are closer than you think.

Be like the bamboo tree. Do not rush the process. If you didn’t know, the bamboo tree literally grows its roots for four years. There is literally nothing that comes up from ground.

Can you imagine what that is like for a planter who doesn’t know much about this tree?

They may be ready to give up after not seeing results in year one. Who knows? They probably will stop watering it thinking the plant isn’t going to do anything at all. And then, more than five years go by and they forget all about the tree that could have been beautiful.

Giving up too soon is what stifles your success most and will make you have to keep starting over. If you just stick to something long enough, perfect your craft and skills, I promise you it will truly pay off.

To the skilled planter, the plant not having growth in the first four years is normal. They just focus on watering the tree daily knowing the roots are going deep into the earth. It isn’t something they worry about or even contemplate quitting. They keep showing up and know that time will show it’s fruit of labor. The bamboo tree grows over eighty feet tall within a one year time span.

Don’t miss out on your year of growth thinking your time before then was wasted. Every second you have to wait is well worth it. You will be more than thankful when you reap the rewards.
