[Editor’s note: We’re so thrilled to be so close to the release of this profound and brilliant volume. We’ve opened up pre-order for a few more days to offer a discounted rate to the community — order your copy here! And join us on January 24th for an incredible line-up to launch RoseSunWater and to celebrate the recent OS release of José Vicente Anaya’s Híkuri, in a new translation by Joshua Pollock. We’ll be joined by community member-poets María Vasquez Valdez, Margaret Randall, and Erick Sáenz. Event invite and link here.]

Greetings comrade! Thank you for talking to us about your process today! Can you introduce yourself, in a way that you would choose?

Angel Dominguez, Latinx smudge of spirit and flesh, blessed to still be alive in
this very moment moving through this reality, ever onwards. Born in Los Angeles, raised by my entire Yucateco immigrant family from Hollywood to Van Nuys. Oldest of 5. Driver of many highways; lover of tacos.

Why are you a poet/writer/artist?

I have no choice in the matter. It’s what I do. What I am. Every waking moment is language and poetry; I’ve been stubborn in this way…
