Today I’m very proud to announce the launch of Opsee’s global health checking capability. Global health checks will be run from our network of 6 globally distributed network PoPs — allowing you to use Opsee without needing to be hosted in AWS, or even running an Opsee instance.

Opsee’s global checks will alert you if we see a failure from any of these 6 points across the globe, ensuring that your API services are available and working properly from everywhere. You can check response headers, bodies, and latency. If you’re using round robin DNS, we’ll automatically detect that and check every IP in in your A record separately. Signup today to get started.

The Big Picture

So what do global checks mean for the Opsee instance and our deep AWS integration? We see global checks as a natural extension of the product, which has relied on the Opsee instance up until this point. The modern production environment is a tapestry of APIs — the APIs you rely on from SaaS vendors, the APIs you maintain, and the APIs of the cloud platform running your code. Launching global health checks takes us one step closer to bringing coverage of all these APIs into one place.
