Shutting Down

I’m sad to say that we’ll be shutting down the Opsee service come the end of the month. I’d like to start out by thanking all of our backers for sticking with us up to this point: our beta testers, customers, investors and of course our wonderful team.

What Went Wrong?

I’ve given a lot of thought to what went wrong, but primarily it all comes down to traction. We built a very useful and quite polished product, but unfortunately the monitoring space is just too saturated to drive adoption of a product that does one thing well. You have to be the all singing, all dancing metrics platform with a million integrations in order to compete. Financially, we were dependent on the capital markets to keep operating and unfortunately without sufficient traction we were unable to raise in the current market.

What Comes Next?

We plan on open sourcing some of the more interesting and generally useful things that we built, and the team is moving on to new gigs. If you’re looking for engineering talent please get in touch with me and I’d be happy to introduce you to one of our awesome team members.
