Body language is a form of nonverbal communication in which physical behaviors, such as posture, gesture, and facial expression, are used to convey messages.

Though it is often thought that words are the primary source of communication, research has shown that body language can actually play a more important role.

In fact, studies have shown that more than 80% of all communication is nonverbal. This means that understanding and being able to interpret body language is essential for effective communication.

When we can read the nonverbal cues of others, we are better able to understand their feelings and intentions.

We can also use our own body language to communicate our own feelings and intentions. For example, smiling is a way to express happiness, while crossing our arms may convey defensiveness.
