Cut the Three Loser Foods
Vegan vs. whole-food, plant-based
A whole food plant-based diet is high in food from the earth. Fruit, berries, nuts, beans, peas, broccoli, mushrooms. The list of foods is endless.
What is not on the list are processed foods, or “food-like” products or substances.
The three loser foods.
Most crackers, bread, and pasta are so stripped of fiber or any semblance of nutrition that the body stalls. It can’t process it correctly, and much like meat or other animal products, the product sits in the stomach for hours, sometimes days.
It isn’t food.
You may ask why we don’t just call this diet vegan. For one, that word has a lot of negative connotations. See my article below:
You may also think that vegan is one word instead of a mouthful, pun intended: Whole-food plant-based.
The other reason is this: Many well-meaning individuals have adopted a vegan diet and replaced certain animal products with the three loser food-like products we mentioned above, highly processed pasta, bread, and crackers.
Potato chips are vegan.
Oreo cookies too.
Hershey’s chocolate sauce.
These foods are often labeled “accidentally vegan” and I indulge in them on occasion myself.
Because if you are going to “cheat” you might as well not add to animal suffering, global warming, and the deforestation of the Amazon at the same time. It is a personal choice.
The health benefits are astounding. Really.
But if you avoid the three losers, the health benefits are astounding.
Heart disease reversal.
A longer life.
Other benefits are more obscure. A varied plant-based diet lacks synthetic chemicals and thus avoids many cancers.
[T]he three loser food-like products . . . highly processed pasta, bread, and crackers.
It reduces the frequency and severity of migraines.
It reduces or eliminates arthritic pain.
It avoids osteoporosis and otherwise leads to healthy bones.
It enhances your mood and avoids or decreases the effects of dementia and Alzheimer’s.
Additionally, you can’t have food sensitivities on a varied vegan diet. Simply put, a varied vegan diet is the keystone to avoiding early death.
