How Blue Light Is Ruining Our Lives

There are different wavelengths of light. A spectrum of colors in light, with different colors more harmful than others. When light enters the eye, it goes through the eye and directly to the retina. The light hits photoreceptors which allow us to see color.

Blue light is a type of visible light that has a shorter wavelength than other colors of light. This makes blue light more scattered than other colors, which is why the sky looks blue. (Crazy, right?)

Blue light is also emitted by electronic screens, such as computers, phones, and TVs. Although blue light is necessary for our health and helps us to stay alert during the day, too much exposure to blue light can be harmful.

And it’s no secret that the average screentime of any given individual has exponentially increased over the years for one reason or another.

From Zoom meetings to social media and dependency on smartphones, blue light is being consumed far too much by people of all ages.
