You might think you are the laziest. Well, that’s not true. You might be bad at some things but trust me some people are worse out there. I have been there too. Being lazy makes you so unproductive that you start hating yourself.

But when all of a sudden you are doing all your tasks, and all your chores, you start feeling satisfied. And that makes your heart feel so so happy you can’t beat that feeling. But then laziness takes over sometimes and it is the worst.

So how did I beat my laziness and become productive? I wouldn’t say I am at my peak productivity because I am not. What is different is I am no longer just laying around and visualizing a dream life. I mean, I am visualizing for sure but not laying around but working for it.

So where to start?

The most basic question. Where do I start? What do I do immediately that’ll change my routine? Well, the answer is simple. Start by asking yourself why? Why do you want to change your routine? Why do you want to do what you are dreaming about?

It’s all about purpose. Once you find your purpose, and your why, you’ll be motivated every day. Because your why will get you up every day. So make sure it is something you are passionate about and don’t want to ever settle with. It can be anything. Fitness goals, upskilling yourself, getting that job, getting that degree. Anything, that you are passionate about.

I will walk you through the exact steps that I did that changed my routine.

Set Goals — The most essential aspect of your journey is your goal. Set a goal about what you want to achieve. For example, my goal was to get a particular type of job.

Set a schedule— Now that you have a goal, you need to set dates of how, when, and where. It is important because you have to decide when you want to achieve the goal. For that, you have to know what to do and when. If you don’t create a schedule, you will be clueless about your daily activities. Setting a schedule creates urgency which in turn motivates you to do your required activities.

Be active — By this I mean literally, be active. Get your body moving. Be physically and mentally active. If you are going to put into work your body and mind have to be active. So, engage in activities that keep your mind and body active. For example, I work out for my body and meditate for my mind.

Create a Vision Board — You might have come across this term somewhere. Let me tell you, it’s crazy effective. It’s basically a visual representation of your goals. It doesn't necessarily have to be on a board. What I did was write my goals on sticky notes and put them on the wall next to my bed. So, every day when I wake up I see them and am naturally invoked to work harder than yesterday.

Track progress — No matter what, tracking progress is the most vital step. I'll tell you why. Most people don’t do it, because they are afraid of failing. But tracking progress is necessary because you need to know where you started and where you have come from. It is a reminder to never give up and keep showing up. Everyday.

Visualize yourself every day achieving your goal. Take in the feeling of turning your dreams into reality. And that will motivate you. But remember, motivation lasts for a day but consistency and discipline will get you there my friend.

Get Uncomfortable. Do things out of your comfort zone. And most importantly, embrace and enjoy your journey.

So what gets you out of bed every day? Tell me in the comments!
