Klixar Digital: Our Journey in Katy, Texas
Starting a business in a new country while I am also taking care of a baby. What could go wrong?
I admit. I wanted to write this article using AI, but damn AI writing sucks still. The easy way out is never the quality path to take, and that’s definitely something everyone learns through one means or another.
I’m back in Jordan. In August, our odyssey to settle in America seemed very bright. We were on track, with our accommodation being cut out (or so we thought — but good lord, what a nightmare that was) and a bustling new city ripe with new business opportunities. My husband and I traded turns on the plane holding our son, who wiggled and cried the entire flight. Yet, I was still hopeful. Hopeful that we could indeed make America work.
I mean how hard is it, really? All we did was try to settle in America.
As it turns out, America got really f-cking expensive.
As in, unlivable kinds of expensiveness. I was shocked by the poor quality of life compared to Jordan, as well. Moreover, my husband’s mind was blown by the sobering reality that America is not the prosperous nation we lie ourselves into believing.
