Letting Go

It's time for me to let you go
our chapter has closed
It filled my heart with sadness
My soul is numb
When you walked into my life,
from that moment on
I saw my future
with you in it
Never did I think
you would leave
I waited for you to come back
The days turn to nights
Nights turned to days

Weeks slipped by me
months came and went
I cried a little more
forever was what I thought
but forever isn't what I got
I still miss you so much
You made me the happiest
I've ever been
It's time for me to let you go
There are too many seasons
that has passed
no going back
I see my future
with only me moving forward
so it's time
I let you go
so I can grow
into the person
God wants me to be
Maybe down the road
we'll cross paths again
but for right now
I am letting you go
