When my son was learning to stand, I’d sit on the couch and watch him pull up. His smiling face beamed at me, tongue sticking out. Day after day he’d try standing up and fall backward.

What amazes me is that it never occurred to him (or me) that he should give up.

He’d try and fail for months— without getting discouraged. We celebrated his successes and he kept practicing until he was running around.

With my older kids, I’ve watched this determination repeat. Such as when his older sister learned to read, swim, ride a bike and the list goes on.

Embrace Failure to Help Others Grow

The level we operate at today is not where we should be in a year.

Our role as a parent — or a team leader — is to give others the opportunity and encouragement to progress.
