Taking the Time to Center Ourselves

Hi there, I hope this email finds you well. I feel like this time of year can be exciting, yet challenging for many. As the days get shorter, depressive symptoms plague many. It can be hard to remain productive when the sun doesn’t stay out long to greet us each day.

This change of season can also be a beautiful time. …a time of stillness, rejuvenation, and centering. I think it’s time to adjust the narrative. If you’re anything like me, you practice what I call “The New Yorker Lifestyle,” just go, go, go. Being productive is a really great way to mask a fear of the unknown. I’m not sure why, but my happiness is often dependent on how much I accomplish in one day. I wouldn’t necessarily consider that a healthy mindset, but hey, we’re all works in progress, right?

I have been trying to prioritize a work-life balance, which is something I have always struggled with. I either clean, cook, and run errands all day, or find myself glued to my laptop for 11+ hours. Can anyone relate?

I initially intended for this newsletter to be delivered weekly. Truthfully, I’m not sure if I have that much to say, so I’ve decided to adopt a more flexible schedule. I’m pretty new to this, and I want to send you all content of value. My goal is to provide a thought, a quote, or an idea that leaves you feeling a little better off than you did before. I hope to inspire you or help ground you in a world overflowing with chaos in every corner we look.

Connect to You

So today, I invite you to take a small chunk out of your beautiful day to check in with your body. How are you really feeling? Are your physical needs being met? Are you battling any symptoms that you are desperately trying to ignore or overcome? How is your heart, your spirit, your mind?

Maybe some intentional gratitude may soothe your soul and bring you back to equilibrium.
