The Key Components for a Successful Coaching Experience
Establishing a trusting partnership …
“Heroes didn’t leap tall buildings or stop bullets with an outstretched hand; they didn’t wear boots and capes. They bled, and they bruised, and their superpowers were as simple as listening, or loving.
Heroes were ordinary people who knew that even if their own lives were impossibly knotted, they could untangle someone else’s. And maybe that one act could lead someone to rescue you right back.”
― Jodi Picoult
The ultimate process that brings successful results with my clients is an alchemy of these: trust, patience, and radical listening. This combination brings about a soulful partnership and an extraordinary sense of connection.
Trust
The first is trust. Trust is the most important ingredient in any type of human work together. Trust is the ability of the coach to create a safe and trusting space starting with the very first conversation.
Without this critical piece, neither coach nor clients can cover any significant ground. The coach approaches every meeting with curiosity and an open heart in a way that fosters this trusting relationship with a client that leaves assumptions and judgements at the door.
