A Photo Essay: Recently my family went to Sarasota Jungle Gardens in Florida, a combination nature park and small animal zoo. I took plenty of pictures of family with the animals on the nature trails and walking with the flamingos, but I also decided to LOOK at nature while I was there. Not just the trees and flowers from a distance, but Nature Close Up.

I don’t claim to have any expertise in photography. If you ask me what kind of professional camera I used I will own up and tell you it was a brand called My Cell Phone, lol. Nor do I know anything about botany. In a few cases I looked up the names of flowers. But mainly I looked and I took photos to look at again in detail. It was a fascinating experience and I encourage you to do the same on your next outdoor trip — even if it’s just a walk around your neighborhood.

I’ll intersperse some quotes about “looking” and “seeing.”
