The answer is, narcissists don’t function the way that normal people do, so a relationship with a narcissist isn’t like a normal relationship. You haven’t done anything wrong to deserve this treatment. The relationship changed because a narcissist wants to have power and control over you.
A relationship with a narcissist can make you feel crazy, because they seemed so loving and caring at the beginning. Then, abruptly things changed. They make you feel like it is your fault, or you did something wrong, then you have to do something to win back their love and get things back to the way that they were at the beginning.
One of the many tools that a narcissist uses to make you feel crazy is called gaslighting. It is a familiar term to many of us, but what does it mean, and why does the narcissist do this?
