Ouija Boards & The Occult

Introduction

Ouija or Spirit Boards have become a popular pop culture icon in the era of New Age fascination. Some view the board as a fun weekend thrill with friends while others avoid it altogether out of fear of the many unknowns that arise with its history and use. Although, in my opinion, these tools are all about what you put into them, like attracts like, there is some stock to all the taboo and warning.

The Purpose of Ouija Boards

Spirit Boards act as a spiritual conduit. A bridge of point to point connection between the physical and the metaphysical. The user sits down with the clear and expressed intention of making contact and as human hands reach out and take the planchette, spectral counterparts rise to meet them in like manner. This is primarily the danger involved. You simply have no idea who or what you are communicating with. While the force on the other end might claim to be grandma or great aunt Sharron, in reality, it's more than likely something far more cosmic and sinister. It’s like being in a chat room. People can claim to be anyone they want but there is always a chance a true predator is lurking with odds of this danger increased a million fold when it comes to the unseen realm.

Spirit Boards have 2 points of functionality. Contact and Release. During Contact a psychic connection is established physically with the movement of the pointer with fixed intent. The board then becomes a physical vessel for spiritual energy to inhabit and work outwardly from. Just as our bodies host our spirit so we can engage with the physical world, entities from the spiritual realm need a physical vessel to occupy in like manner. This condensing of energy into a physical space provides grounding and intensified channels for paranormal activity to manifest more freely. Once contact has been established, the dinner bell rang, the waters chummed and the sharks have gathered, eventually, there will come a point of release.

The release comes when the established connection is broken and the energies brought into your presence are freed and often stick around and cause chaos. They notice you because they have now found someone with fascinations in the occult and are able to notice them back. I can't tell you how many cases I’ve worked that began with a reckless fascination with an occult object like the Spirit Board. Think about what you are doing. You are literally creating a meeting point, a convergence of realms. Tossing up a neon sign into the shadows that say “Come Say Hi!” For every terror of the void imaginable to see. When you call, these beings do come and with legions. You are literally providing them with an open door or window into your life and into the lives of those in your sphere of influence.

Concluding Thoughts

This is not a game. You are dealing with ancient forces with the wisdom of the ages on their side. Manipulation is their first and most fluent language. Evil is cunning, patient, and sinister. They operate on their own time and wait for the precise moment to strike and they know all the right places to hit and all the buttons to push.

Do yourselves a favor and just stay away.
