After our project released its code on GitHub back in the first half of 2018, our team focused on building an engaging user experience, leveraging all the useful feedback and ideas we received from the community, centered primarily around the subject of keeping our blockchain technology inclusive by making it as intuitive as possible for the non-technical users.

On October 11th, we had the opportunity to present our distributed application during the 2018 edition of the national “IT Career Days”, organized by Job Tiger — the biggest end-to-end HR service provider in Bulgaria, one of our early adopters. OS.University hosted its demo day at the forum, so that our key users, i.e. the community of learners, was able to test out the platform’s look and feel as part of the overall roadmap of the project. More than 2000 attendees were able to experience the world’s academic & career development ledger first-hand.

The recent release was highly anticipated, given that just days before its premier, our platform was recognized with a “John Atanasoff” certificate. The John Atanasoff awards for achievements by Bulgarian researchers in the sphere of computer science is an initiative by the President of the Republic of Bulgaria going back 15 years, a demonstration that whatever their political beliefs and views, Bulgarian presidents share a vision — that Bulgarian science, achievements and causes for the public good should receive the unwavering support of the presidential institution.

in the “Outstanding Projects with Social Value-Added” category three initiatives were awarded for their potential and successes in their drive to change, and most of all make some of our citizens’ duties easier, by offering various services. One such example is Оpen Source University, helping the academic and career development of students, without national or institutional restrictions.

Last, but not the least, our autumn tour continues at full speed. We already shared our experience in applying the theory of change framework on the main stage of the “NEXT DIFI 2018” Fintech Forum and engaged in fruitful discussions throughout the “Bits & Pretzels” startup founders’ forum during the Oktoberfest in Munich.

In parallel, our senior strategy advisor, Aly Madhavji, presented the project at the Vietnam Blockchain Week (VBW), organized by Infinity Blockchain Labs. VBW is set to be one of the world’s premier destinations for entrepreneurs and startups in the industry and it is the first major blockchain conference in Vietnam.
