Today the “Open Source University” project (OS.University) and the International Science Hub (ISH.Earth) signed a memorandum of understanding, agreeing to interact together in order to achieve projects’ common goals in the fields of education, research and the advancement of science & technology beyond institutional and national borders.

Established in 2015 as R&D project at the Technical University of Sofia, today OS.UNIVERSITY represents a unique distributed application, maintained by an award-winning team of developers, academicians, and leading consultants from around the world. Its mission is to help learners and professionals claim and advance their academic & professional identity beyond borders by providing them with a competence passport on the immutable blockchain.

OS.UNIVERSITY protocol is built with a multi-chain architecture in mind and a peer-to-peer transactional model that provides for learners, educators, and businesses the opportunity to exchange information and value in a frictionless manner, using EDU tokens, which offer zero-percent commission fees. From content discovery to validation and verification of acquired knowledge and skills, the diverse set of smart contracts behind the distributed application shape www.os.university as the go-to location for the next generation of learners.

Observing the development of blockchain technologies in the recent years, as well as implementing his own projects in the field, Denis Zyryanov discovered that many problems in the interaction between business and the scientific community can be addressed through smart ledger innovations, which led to the establishment of the International Science Hub (ISH) in 2018 — a decentralized scientific platform that is aimed at increasing the availability, quality and speed of scientific developments by creating a bridge between the specialist and the customer.

The decision to collaborate with ISH was an easy one for OS.UNIVERSITY to take — our visions for the future of Academia complement each other”, says the co-founder of OSU and Doctoral Candidate of the Year for 2017, Hristian Daskalov. “Let’s take for example our core product — the credentials wallet, which provides an opportunity for every learner and academician to create an indisputable self-sovereign academic and professional identity by recording his accomplishments and achievements on the distributed ledger. These accomplishments would come as a result of the collaboration on innovative decentralized platforms, such as the “International Science Hub”, which promises to increase the availability, quality, and speed of scientific developments, bridging researchers with their customers.”, adds the project lead of OS.UNIVERSITY.

The main advantage of the International Science Hub lies in the fact that we connect the scientific community as much as possible in one key, which helps accelerate the implementation of new technologies”, comments the CEO of ISH — Denis Zyryanov. “Both projects look into empowering the members of Academia to connect with each other, as well as to tap into the existing market opportunities by avoiding intermediaries. Making our systems and token circulation models as interoperable as possible, will not only scale-up faster, but will also create the much need spill-over effects into the broader science community”, concludes Zyryanov.
