GETTING IT JUST RIGHT!

Is the plan ok? Is my budget ok?

What if I overshoot? How will I handle a cashflow problem?

It is best I stick to how things are now…..That’s what you decide!

And then comes change, a fall in revenues……and sometimes death.

Let’s switch gears to a less morose, familiar topic.

Tying shoe laces.

Will you run barefoot in a hot surface (or any rough road)?

You want to protect your feet and so you lace up. When you tie your shoe, you don’t know if it is tight or loose, you tie and you try.

After a few steps, you know the status and then you adjust the shoe laces. Then you tey again and this time you somehow get it right.

There are days in your run when you know something is not right. Your foot is paining or there is some blistering happening in your feet. You can sense it first, then you feel it. In the flow of things though, you decide to keep on running thinking that the problem will take care of itself.

It doesn’t.

There will be short term pain like a blister or a long term issue like a messed up muscle somewhere else in your body. This set of muscles has been working overtime to correct the imbalance. All due to one shoe lace that was improperly tied, and ignored!

One small error will lead to major pain later. Guaranteed. Sometimes you get lucky and escape any injury, but hope and luck never is a strategy!

The only way is to go the trial and assess routine to ensure that the shoelaces are tied just right, for the specific exercise you are about to embark on.

Your marketing plan will never be perfect. What seems right now will not be the same as the surface will change. Your plan must change to adapt.

Trial, test, tweak, redo, repeat.

Tie your marketing shoe laces just right,

and keep redoing it regularly.

<The seed for this story came from my session with Kavya & KK in Quad Chennai today. She started the session with a question: How comfortable are your shoe laces? Inspiration is all around you!>
