Sweet calming respite
Tempts me so
Cool, freshly pressed sheets

A fluffy pillow
Seduction
Promising relief

Just lay your head down
Close your eyes
A nap will be good

My thoughts taper off
Sweet, sweet sleep
Suddenly dropping

I’m out of control
Paralyzed
Spinning and sinking

Racing through all time
Free falling
Lower and lower

Rock bottom in sight
Sudden shock
And a hypnic jerk
