Behind the code: Manager of Engineering, Uladzimir Karabeinik, PandaDoc
Our next introduction as we peek behind the code of our PandaDoc API is to our Manager of Engineering, Uladzimir Karabeinik.
Uladzimir’s first memory of programming was some Pascal written on paper that was later typed on a DOS-powered computer. It created a screensaver that filled in the screen with circles of varying colors and sizes from random coordinates.
Uladzimir earned a Bachelor of Science in information technology from Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics. He is also an Oracle-certified professional Java SE 6 programmer.
Right after graduation, Uladzimir held a job as a software engineer in Belarus programming PLCs (programming logical controllers), working with physical inputs and outputs in automating manufacturing processes. Then he worked briefly as a Java software engineer for a startup in Germany. Just before coming to PandaDoc Uladzimir worked as a software engineer and then lead engineer leading multiple teams building products for a bone marrow donor matching service headquartered in the U.S.
As Manager of Engineering for the Ecosystem Track at PandaDoc, Uladzimir relishes the challenging task of understanding client needs and helping solve client problems with automation products, APIs, and seamless integrations that enable the elimination of manual paperwork with technologies to streamline business tasks. Once Uladzimir thought a career in tech meant sitting in a dark room in front of multiple big screens. He has grown to greatly appreciate that his work involves orchestrating positive team dynamics along with extensive collaboration with clients. Though, when people ask him about his work, he simplifies the explanation by including only the dark-room aspect.
Currently, Uladzimir is working on an initiative that could drastically change the way PandaDoc integrates with other services and products. As a manager, he is energized by working toward the outcome: the possibility of a significant impact on businesses.
Uladzimir loves to enjoy good food with his family. He loves the outdoors, often running or biking in his free time. When it’s raining you might find him indoors watching interviews on YouTube.
A bit of a perfectionist, Uladzimir stays balanced by heeding the best advice he ever received: “A bad decision is better than no decision.”
