The Paper Straw Resistance

--

Howdy! We are the Paper Straw Resistance. Pleased to meet you! We are a group of friends who have something in common: we peacefully resist the status quo.

We feel things can be done better.

Things have been developing in the wrong direction. We don’t blame anyone — nobody deliberately is Dr. Evil. But that doesn’t mean we can’t make some changes!

Some examples, you say? Easy. Why do we buy our food from huge corporations who bring in their products from all over the world, while the Netherlands has so much local initiatives? And while talking big corporations, why is so much food packaged seemingly unnecessary big lumps of plastic? And why do we spend such large amounts of time looking at screens? That’s why (for now!) we focus on the following topics:

  • Increasing community supported agriculture
  • Packaging free or zero-waste packaging
  • Disconnecting from our tech addiction

How do we go about? We start small and local. We organize activities that raise awareness and consequently drives action. We endorse local projects and activities, but also get our own hands dirty, for example with guerilla communication actions. And: anyone can join!

Our key values in doing so: using our positive and creative thinking and professional skills, and always with a laugh.

Let’s see how far we can go. Vive la Résistance !
